Going Safe on Food: Los Angeles County Gets Online
Option for Food Safety Certification
July 12, 2007 - Los Angeles, CA - 360training, pioneers of the leading online food and alcohol safety program Learn2Serve, today announced the approval of its food handler safety course by the Los Angeles County Department of Public and Environmental Health (LAC).
Based upon the standards of the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA), Learn2Serve meets all mandatory training requirements for food establishment owners and employees in Los Angeles County.
"The introduction of a newly approved online certification program for this industry is a sign of forward thinking governance for technology based learning," stated Ed Sattar, CEO of 360training. The Learn2Serve food handler certification course for LA County features integrated audio, multimedia, and video designed to prepare students for passing their CFP-ANSI accredited examination in Los Angeles County.
As the official training program for NEHA, the course trains users on food safety principals using the FDA model food code as well as LA County required topics on stormwater pollution and TB prevention.
Los Angeles County requires all food service operations to have a certified food handler on the premises. This is to ensure that food service workers are knowledgeable of correct practices in the handling, preparation, and serving of food in order to protect the public's health.
