Vermont Department of Liquor Control Approves
Online Learn2Serve Training

March 24, 2007 (Vermont, Austin, Texas) 360training's Learn2Serve Alcohol Server Awareness Program (A.S.A.P.) has been approved by the Vermont Department of Liquor Control. In an attempt to decrease alcohol-related car crashes and underage alcohol-related deaths in Vermont, the state is focusing on various initiatives to increase alcohol safety awareness - one of which is alcohol safety training. Vermont requires all on-premise establishments to have their employees A.S.A.P trained. According to the Vermont Senator, Patrick Leahy, there have been alarming statistics and grim accidents in recent years that have drawn attention to the problem of underage drinking and drunk driving in Vermont. The organization, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), reports that Vermont is the number one state in the country per capita for teen alcohol-related highway deaths. Approximately 35 - 40 people die each year in alcohol- related crashes in Vermont, a per capita rate far higher than other New England states.

"With tighter regulations under way, we are honored to offer nationally recognized Learn2Serve Alcohol Seller Server Program to the Vermont area," says Bill Vear, VP of Learn2Serve Public Safety Division. "Ultimately, the Learn2Serve Alcohol Server Awareness Program (A.S.A.P) is a means to ensure your operation does the right thing - protecting your customers and your business and we are excited about being a part of the solution," says Vear.

The Vermont Department of Liquor Control requires all establishment employees to be certified by an approved Alcohol Seller Server program such as the online Learn2Serve program.

"With excellence and a desire for further expansion, it is no surprise that the Learn2Serve online program has accelerated into new markets and has been regarded with such high esteem by the state of Vermont," adds Vear.

The Learn2Serve online program helps alcohol service staff to understand the law through strategies that teach them how to react to customers in real life situations. Topics are delivered through audio, multimedia, interactive role-playing and testing to address issues such as fake identification, underage minors and intervention techniques for the intoxicated.
